Use this checklist before installation day. Some items may not apply to every technology.
Before ordering
- Provider confirmed service at the exact civic address.
- Plan terms, data rules, equipment cost, installation cost, and cancellation terms are in writing.
- Site survey or signal test requirements are clear.
- You know whether equipment is owned, rented, financed, or returned at cancellation.
Installation day
- Mounting location is safe, approved, and reachable.
- Cable route and wall entry point are understood before drilling.
- Grounding, surge protection, and weather exposure are discussed where relevant.
- Router location supports the rooms where internet is actually needed.
- Installer explains what lights, app readings, or tests show normal operation.
After installation
- Test near the router and in the home office or main usage rooms.
- Run a video call, upload test, and streaming test during normal use hours.
- Save provider support information and equipment serial numbers.
